Santa Cruz Avenue Project in Menlo Park
We were tasked with turning this cluttered backyard, with dated hardscape, and a lot of lawn, into a clean, modern, Mediterranean space. We chose to keep the blue color of the ADU so material choices were made around this.
The process. Key Players in the formation of this yard and home:
Leyla Curry: Lead Project Designer and Project Manager, Owner of Exclusive Assistance
Hannah Greendorfer: Project Designer
Ernesto Ramirez: Lead Contractor, Owner of Sunscapes Inc.
Alberto Pulido: Painting, Owner of Pulido Painting
Hector Giron: Contractor, Owner of Silicon Valley Carpentry
The Willow Farm: willow panels for trellis and garden beds, willow chairs
THE RESULT:
A custom outdoor kitchen with red pizza oven, stainless steel grill, and black soapstone countertops.
A sustainable and beautiful outdoor living solution featuring drought-tolerant backyard landscaping design with gravel ground cover, citrus and olive trees, native grasses and hearty salvias.
Raised garden beds, surrounding a fire pit, with woven willow siding and a rustic wooden obelisk, creating a charming and functional vegetable garden design.
A sleek black trellis with willow panels covering a deck off the back of the home.
